For the last few weekends, I have been having lots of fun with paper piecing stars. I started out with trying to find a project that I could use  the following fabric which I bought a few weeks ago at my first visit to Intrepid Threads.

The fabric sat on my table for about a week and it was calling to me to make some thing wonderful with it. During a late night blog reading session I came across  some paper pieced blocks that I just knew would work with this wonderful fabric.

I was so excited to find the Solstice Stars Series and the Summer Sampler Series Faith’s wonderful blog Fresh Lemons and decided to start with some of her wonderful blocks. Her paper piecing instructions are so clear and even a beginner to paper piecing could make these blocks. I have a slightly different method as I use a postcard for marking the crease lines for stitching and an add a quarter for trimming the excess fabric.

Here are the blocks that I made so far:

And here they all are hanging out on my design wall.

I am not sure yet how I will lay these out for a quilt but I am in the process of making some more stars, stay tuned for another post with my progress.
