Graduation Day Quilt

I always love reading all the entries in the Blogger Quilt Festival over at Amy’s Creative Side which is held twice a year in spring and fall. I just love going through all the categories and admire the lovely quilts.

This time around I have decided to show my “Graduation Day Quilt” which I finished earlier this year.  It was made to celebrate a friends of the family’s graduation from

graduation day

I love using ombre fabric and when I first saw the Hole in the Wall quilt pattern   I knew it would be perfect for this quilt. Here is how I did the rows each vertical row was cut from one  width of fabric.

For the quilting I picked a panto called Modern Maze #1  which I think was perfect for the quilt:

Here is a close up of the quilting:

I entered this quilt at the San Mateo County fair and was very excited when it won a ribbon and a rosette.

I really need to pack this up and mail it to Denise in Ireland as her graduation was over a year ago! I find it hard to part with it but I will send it to her soon. I promise!

Please visit the main page on Amy’s Creative Side and start drooling over all the awesome quilts  don’t forget to return on November 1st to vote for your favorites in each category!
