Once the top was completed I searched my quilting designs for something fun and feminine and decided on Starlight Edge-to-Edge by Christy Dillion on WWW.MYCREATIVESTITCHES.NET and I think it was perfect for this quilt.
Once the quilting was completed it was time for the binding and label to be hand sew on. I used to hate hand sewing but now I enjoy this last step as I get to sew love into the quilt.
Once the quilt was completed I reached out to Lucy for her new address to send the quilt to baby Evelyn but fount out that the following week they were on the way to California to introduce Evelyn to her family here. I was lucky to be available to meet them when they visited Aunt Rita’s and I was able to give the quilt to them in person. It was just wonderful to see Aunt Rita meet her newest great granddaughter. I just love the look of joy on Aunt Rita’s face as she held Evelyn. I was so glad to spend a few hours visiting that day as only a few months later we lost Aunt Rita.
Just recently Lucy and Tim announced that they are expecting another baby girl so time to plan another quilt!
